Background
​
I am a freelance Education Consultant and teacher trainer specialising in Essential Skills in Further Education, in particular English, ESOL and neurodiversity, CPD delivery and resource development. I am also an EQA with sound knowledge of internal and external Quality Assurance processes. I have been teaching and supporting teachers for more than 30 years in the UK and Spain.
Career
​
I have worked as a teacher, Curriculum Manager and Senior Manager in many sectors of FE: Adult Community Learning, Work-based Learning, Independent Training Providers and Language Schools, as well as Prisoner Learning. I have also supported colleges and school staff in the improvement of English, ESOL and maths delivery as well as Digital Skills and SEND & Inclusion needs.

I have been fortunate to work on some great projects in English & maths teaching and learning, for major organisations such as the UK Parliament Outreach Team, The Education and Training Foundation, The Association of Labour Providers and the Co-Operative, as well as sector skills councils such as the National Skills Academy for Food & Drink Manufacturing.
​
I currently work as a freelance consultant, EQA, TEQA and examiner for City & Guilds, as well as working with other Awarding Organisations. I am an associate for the Education and Training Foundation and the Association of Colleges.
​
My present work includes providing staff training and development, as well as general consultancy for a number of colleges, ITPs, ACL and Prison Learning providers.

Professional bodies

I am a Fellow of SET (The Society for Education and Training). Already a holder of QTLS, in 2022 I was awarded ATS (Advanced Teacher Status) and CTeach as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Teachers. I am a Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology. I am a member of IATEFL and a member of the Prisoners Learning Alliance. Finally, I am a member of ACAMH (The Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health).

Offices held
​
I am currently a Trustee of NATECLA as well as sitting on the East of England Branch Committee. I am a Director of the CIC Neurodiversity in Education. I am the Chair of Governors for Poultec Training Ltd.
Previous offices held include the National Co-Chair of NATECLA 2020-2024, East of England Branch Chair of NATECLA, Member of the National Skills for Life Alliance and Chair of the Norfolk Literacy, Language and Numeracy Forum.

Qualifications
​
My specialisms are English and Languages and I hold a Degree in Spanish & French, a CTEFLA and Subject Specialist qualifications in Literacy and ESOL. I am a fully qualified teacher with QTLS, Advanced Teacher Status (ATS) and Chartered Teacher Status (C Teach). I have been awarded awarded CMALT as a Certified Member by the Association for Learning Technology (with a specialism in ESOL teaching).
​
I have been awarded the Level 3 Advanced Virtual Trainer qualification and am experienced at delivering highly engaging staff CPD remotely.
​
I am a Quality Adviser with the Level 4 TAQA Qualifications in Internal Quality Assurance and External Quality Assurance.
​
I have a keen interesting in Specific Learning Differences and have undertaken a number of courses and CPD events covering neurodiversity and inclusion needs.
